Work Outlook (04/13/2026)
There are numerous job calls for data center work, fire alarm, NETA testing, WMATA and other industrial projects across the DC/MD/VA area. Contractors like Dynalectric, JE Richards, Power Solutions, Rosendin, FIS, and others have 8-12 month data center projects with planned overtime, 4-10s and 3-12s schedules available. Some jobs offer per diem or incentives. Background checks and OSHA/safety certs are commonly required. Overall there appears to be a good amount of work available, especially in the data center/critical power sector, though contractors are still being selective with candidates. The JW pay scale is $59.50/hr.
