The Work Outlook is a curated digest of the top opportunities at a local, not a line-by-line dump of every open call. We rank the calls by earning potential — pay rate, hours and overtime, per diem, duration, and number of positions — and show the strongest ones first.

So if a local has dozens of contractor calls, you'll typically see the top handful, not all of them. That's intentional.

📊 What the "total positions" number means

The number in the overview line (e.g. "211 total positions") is the total count of open positions across all calls on the local's dispatch page — not the number of lines listed below it.

🧠 Why we built it this way

• Made for the decision. You're deciding where to travel — you want the best-paying, most-hours calls at a glance, not 200 line items to scroll.
• Ranked by what matters. Highest pay, most OT, longest duration, biggest crews float to the top.
• Resilient to messy sources. Dispatch pages are PDFs, tables, login walls, and jobline recordings. A focused summary is far more reliable than trying to perfectly enumerate every row.
• Fast and always fresh. Keeping it tight lets us re-parse hundreds of locals on a tight schedule.
