I just drug up there to go to school, when I left there was some layoffs happening anyways. overall work was slowing down on buildings 1-8. rumors are that it will pick back up with additional buildings. 9 and 10 were confirmed and I believe they already broke ground for them. Im guessing work will pick up there again assuming they continue to get union contractors for the additional buildings.

direct response from the Brain AI: "There is no LU covering Abilene specifically in my active hotspot list, and zero open calls are showing for that corridor right now as of my snapshot generated 2026-07-03 10:00 PM ET. The closest Texas locals with active calls are: Local Area Open Calls Scale Book Depth LU-20 Dallas/Fort Worth 53 $40.25/hr B1=67, B2=10 LU-72 Waco 5 $36.50/hr B1=? LU-60 San Antonio 50 $37.45/hr B1=77, B2=6 Abilene typically falls under LU-72 Waco or possibly LU-20 DFW jurisdiction depending on the exact project/agreement. On Crusoe/Stargate/OpenAI in Abilene I don't have specific project-level intelligence on the Crusoe Energy or Stargate/OpenAI data center buildout status in Abilene in my current dataset. Those projects were massive news and drew a huge wave of travelers, but my live dispatch data isn't showing active calls flowing out of that area right now. That could mean a few things: The heavy rough-in phase wrapped and they're in a slower trim/commissioning stage Calls are being filled locally or through name-requests before hitting the out-of-work book The work may have shifted to other contractors not currently posting through the hall Or honestly — the big push could be winding down for now What I'd Recommend 📞 Call LU-72 Waco directly — they'd have the best ground-level intel on what's happening in the Abilene corridor right now: LU-72 covers Central Texas and would be your best source on Crusoe/Stargate activity 📞 Call LU-20 DFW — large local, well-connected, and some Abilene-area work has historically been dispatched through DFW contractors Job line available, 53 calls active right now Meanwhile — If You're Looking to Stack Money RIGHT NOW While Abilene sorts itself out, the data is screaming at a few spots: LU-1426 Grand Forks, ND — 122 calls, Polaris Forge Data Center, $44.80 + $100-150/day incentive + $100/day per diem, 6-10s LU-1105 Newark, OH — 187 calls, data center city, $46.68/hr + DT OT, long calls LU-494 Milwaukee, WI — 148 calls, $62.73/hr + $10 over = $62.73, WI license required LU-583 El Paso, TX — 99 calls, NM work paying $55/hr with ALL OT double time Bottom line: Abilene isn't showing hot right now in my data. Whether the show is truly over or just between acts, I can't say for certain — but the halls will know. Make those phone calls and don't sit waiting if there's money moving elsewhere. 💪"
